About Us
AsheNoWriMo is a writing group in Asheville, NC. Writers of all kinds are welcome to join us! We meet twice-monthly for "Write-Ins", where we get together for 2-3 hours and WRITE. At the Write-Ins, there are no chores or other excuses to keep you away from your writing! It's a great way to get dedicated writing time. Though we get together and write together, we are all working on our own projects.
AsheNoWriMo's founder was inspired by the productivity of the weekly Write-Ins for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month -- so AsheNoWriMo literally stands for "Asheville Novel Writing Month", though our writing is sooo not limited to just novels!). Jess wanted to help other local writers keep up their writing all year long by continuing to hold the same kind of group writing sessions.
No longer concerned with just NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy (NaNoWriMo's script-writing, sister program), AsheNoWriMo is dedicated to providing ALL local writers with a time and a place to hang out with other writers and do that most important thing: WRITE. Many AsheNoWriMo members participate in either NaNoWriMo or Script Frenzy (or both!) every year, however, so you'll definitely hear about them! Participation in these events is NOT mandatory to be part of the group. All you need is a desire to get some writing done!
